Shane Manwaring is a law enforcement leader with the Unified Police Department and a Colonel in the Utah Army National Guard, bringing decades of experience protecting our community and our country. He is running for Sheriff to restore strong leadership, enforce the law, and put public safety first.

Shane believes the Sheriff’s Office exists for one purpose: to protect law-abiding citizens and hold offenders accountable. As Sheriff, he will crack down on crime, strengthen Salt Lake County Jail operations, and ensure inmates are housed safely, securely, and with dignity.

A proven organizational leader, Shane has successfully turned around large, troubled organizations by demanding accountability, empowering strong teams, and eliminating waste. He will bring that same approach to improve efficiency, cut redundancies, and make sure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely.
